Shawmut Named Family Business of Year
In November, the University of Connecticut’s School of Business awarded Shawmut Equipment with a 2008 Family Business of the Year Award.
Shawmut Equipment was one of several family businesses in Connecticut to receive the award in 2008.
“Shawmut Equipment and the O’Connell family thank the University of Connecticut for this award,” Shawmut Equipment President Dave O’Connell said. “We also thank all of Shawmut’s hard working employees, the Manitowoc Crane Group, and our loyal customers for the commitment and support that makes our success possible.”
The University of Connecticut presented the awards at a dinner and ceremony at the Storrs, Connecticut campus on the evening of November 12, 2008.
Many of Shawmut Equipment’s long term employees, as well as representatives of the Manitowoc Crane Group, attended the dinner and presentaion of the award.
Founded in 1957, Shawmut Equipment is a third generation family business headquartered in Manchester, Connecticut.
